Default Lehigh Co DA won't prosecute ballot harvesters

Lehigh DA: Hundreds illegally dropped off more than one ballot in drop boxes; No prosecutions planned.

But (Republican) District Attorney Jim Martin said there will be no prosecutions because it is impossible to determine the identity of most of the violators.

“… to prosecute those few whose identity can be proven would be unfair and unjust given the much larger numbers who cannot be identified and who also deposited multiple ballots,” Martin said in a press release issued Monday.

With thinking like that, all criminals should go free because its unfair and unjust to the ones that got caught. SMH

I guess police should no longer pull over one driver for speeding unless they can catch all that are speeding in a group.

    Hmmm.

I wonder how far you could get using this news quote as a legal defense as established precedent, after committing a crime in Lehigh county. It would definitely be worth a try.

It doesn't seem as though we have any recall processes here in PA. Otherwise, I would expect that someone would have at least attempted one, somewhere. I am in favor of creating such a process and will bring it up to my legislators.

His (the D.A.) is the worst characteristic of the political animal. It's not only the intellectual dishonesty, it's the condescension associated with the insult to our intelligence. It's a Clinton "I didn't inhale" moment.

    Disgusting.

I'm sure they'll pass that as soon as they get done with passing term limits.
