Default Did image size get changed?

If I'm not mistaken, images needed to be less than 1 MB in size to be posted as an attachment.

Today I'm receiving an error message stating that .jpg files must be less than 500 KB.

Is this the new norm or is something else up?

Don't know, but I skip all that trouble and just use https://postimages.org/ then drop the URL link in my post which displays the pic as whatever size I uploaded.

Just post a smaller image. If you post a big image it will be clear and full sized when you post it......but look at it the next day and all you see is a postage stamp.
