Just supposing a nice lady were to obtain a 80% lower and finish it herself and add it to a pistol upper to make an Ar-15 pistol without a serial number.
This action was fully legal on April 10, 2022.

April 11 2022, Pedo Joe and the BATFE announce that such an item is illegal and ownership is a felony.

If the nice lady could prove she owned the items in question before April 11, would that not shield her from conviction?

Would the wonderful folks from DC be able to confiscate and keep her gun?

Would she have to sue them to get her gun back and all the damages?

I am not saying that exactly today homemade unserialized guns are illegal.

I am more concerned how we will have to protect ourselves when the unelected bureaucrats declare ex post facto illegal status on what is legal today.
