Thumbs up One we can support SB 1174

    No.
    Hugely disagree.

This is specifically to set up a special "class" of citizens.

    Carry for everyone or bust.

This is nothing more than a November patriotic feel good circle jerk.

    ^^^^ This.

There area great many of us here that fit into the listed categories. I don't speak for all, but I'd wager you'd be hard pressed to find any that would want a special class...

I*ll take it. Just like the democrats, they chip away at our rights. This is a chip in our favor and can be added to in the future. Get your foot in the door and work hard on Constitutional Carry.

I have to agree with ^^^^^. Take what we can get when we can get it and then press on. Just like "disband the NFA" Nope, get suppressors removed and then show that crime did not go up. Then remove SBR's and SBS's and then show that crime did not go up, then finish them off with removal of full autos and the NFA will basically be dead. That said, I would bet that the BATFE would still want a tax on the removed items but In MY opinion, people would probably be ok with the tax (if it stays the same) to be able to buy these items over the counter with the standard firearms background check.

I'm on the fence on this one. When I first read about it my thought was "hell no, this forms two classes". Then others here mentioned a win is a win, even if it's incomplete. That makes some sense also, after all, it doesn't take anything away from anyone. Some states like FL that require training to get a license will accept a DD214 in lieu of a class. Is there much of a difference in the bill and what FL does?

Both sides make valid arguments. I hate extended criminal sentences and / or reduced fee's for any class of people, but it's chipping away in the right direction. Tough decision!
