    Default Non Resident Permits

    Hello,
I’m trying to ascertain which Counties will issue a Non Resident permit. My daughter lives in Northampton County, and I visit frequently. I reside in CT and always carry my firearm. I thank you in advance for your time in this matter.

All counties are required by law to accept and process LTCF applications regardless of residency status. Any county refusing to do so is violating the law and should be brought to court. It is incredibly unfortunate that we need to sue to get sheriffs to follow the law, but here we are. I will contribute to any legal fund that seeks to challenge this unlawful behavior.

(That said, I understand that it is much easier to just go to another county, and do not look down on anyone who does so).

Berks was as good as it got before the deadly chirus took its toll. I have heard that they've gotten weird since so check before going there. Previously, I would have sent anyone there first.

    Scott,

A person whom I know well who also lives in CT applied to Luzerne County, drove there to pick it up last week, total time about 3 weeks from submitting the application on line. FYI, he has permits in CT, UT, FL, OH prior to applying for PA. YMMV. Hope this helps.

Democratic Lackawanna Sherriff is VERY 2A friendly. You should call to verify that they can get you in, with COVID protocols they have changed how they used to do things. You will need to Show your CT Carry license. Other then that it shouldn't be that difficult.
