Re: Jackson says right to keep and bear arms a 'fundamental right'
Anyone who is a candidate for SCOTUS should be hooked to a lie detector for these hearings. She'd be off the chart.....right up there with Sake.

Re: Jackson says right to keep and bear arms a 'fundamental right'
It's important to note that the comments above are an inaccurate description of that particular session between Grassley and Jackson. Jackson NEVER commented on her own views regarding the 2A and Fundamental Rights, she only mentioned the Supreme Court's current 2A rulings and it's current interpretations of various fundamental rights, NOT her own.
That distinction is necessary to understand that Jackson is essentially giving the focus grouped safe stock answer that she was coached to give, without revealing her true opinion and agenda, and Grassley is too busy joking and flirting with her to ask tough follow ups. Notice he didn't follow up and ask her if she agreed with that interpretation and decision? Why the hell not?
I also didn't like when Grassley was talking about her in the future tense and envisioning her in the vacant seat.
Look, it's quite obvious to me that the old establishment leadership nincompoops like Grassley and McConnell and Thune have already resigned themselves to letting Jackson slide through with minimal push back. They just don't feel it's worth going to war over. That's not how Democrats fight. Everything is a war with them. Jackson promises to be the most radical Supreme Court Justice in the history of our nation, perhaps even the most radical in the history of Western Democracy, If she is not worth fighting to remove from consideration, then who is?
Also, how on earth can any Republican seriously call Joe Manchin a moderate after he revealed he is going to vote for this Marxist POC? Where are the Murkowski's and Collins and Flakes, and Romneys on the Democrat side who are afraid to vote for "extremists"? Well there are none apparently.

Re: Jackson says right to keep and bear arms a 'fundamental right'
Only a complete reset of the current House and Senate along with the removal of 90% of the bureaucrats at all the .gov agencies (along with most of the agencies) can fix the problem. For at least four decades, most of the voting public were not voting and, if they did, not paying attention to what was happening in DC. Eisenhower was a prophet.
We are well and truly fucked.

Re: Jackson says right to keep and bear arms a 'fundamental right'
She is a progressive democrat. They will say one thing and a few moments later say the complete opposite. I believe she is lying and will say whatever it takes to get confirmed. Progressive democrats have no conscience, no concern for the Bill of Rights when it comes to republicans, and no shame. They don't care if they are called out as hypocrites. Besides the MSM is on their side and won't call them out anyway. Any senator that votes for this Marxist is a gullible idiot and a traitor to our nation.

Think about the average citizen of average intelligence having average time and ability to be exposed to knowledge of current affairs and history in general.
Now, see that person noticing when Republicans offer a SCOTUS candidate, nasty shit gets thrown around for days, and when Dems offer a SCOTUS candidate things go much smoother and nicer.
Guess which party that person will relate to.There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
