My question is why should PA gun owner info be sent to a privately held company based in North Carolina in order to get PA LTCF?
I don't care if it streamlines the process. Still sounds fishy to me.

That is a big problem too.

At least they aren't outsourcing it to India like everyone else. The .gov has enough employees on staff in various depts that could include running the website as part of their daily duties to save tax payer money.

I always hate reading about how a .gov agency hired an outside law firm to handle thing while having a full law dept on the payroll.

5 years from now, a FOIA request will probably reveal Smartmatic or Dominion runs the application software and shares the info with any requesting parties

I also am curious as to how counties (like Philadelphia and Montgomery) integrated their previous process? (e.g. MontCo used to require you show up to the sheriff with fingerprints already completed and Philly had a drop-off interview.)

My understanding is Philadelphia is now processing LTCF applications faster than it ever has in history, so I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. It just takes a lawsuit at every step of the training process. Hopefully they don't forget the lessons (though I wouldn't hold my breath.)
Don't think there were any extra questions. Yes there was an additional $5, for credit card processing. Agree probably illegal, too small to make an issue over.
Processing time - between submitting the application and receiving approval - just under 24 hours. (not days - hours).
    Notification was by eMail.
Pickup appointments, seem to be about a two week lead for an open time. Times available are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

With current gas prices, how much does it cost for mileage and parking to get to/from the county courthouse?

Val at GOA put together a letter and sent it off to Bradford County. (Related Post). Just wanted to let you know. Hopefully Sheriff Walters is willing to change his policies.

"Permitium". Sounds like one of those made up pharmaceutical names on TV commercials.

Ask YOUR doctor if PERMITIUM is right for YOU!
