well im sure they will require a registration for each round. the background check i guess is their idea of how to stop people from store hopping.

Does anybody know what they're considering as "bulk" ammo?

This is what drives me nuts with all the congress critters, on one hand they don't want you to have much ammo, on the other they say you must be trained and certified to even be able to own one. I'm betting that number they consider bulk is probably 101+ rounds.

100 rounds of pistol ammo equals about 6 magazines which is hardly any practice. When I go to the range I'm shooting that much at around 7 yards before moving back to 10 yards, then 15 yards and a maybe a mag at 25 yards. For me I generally shoot around 250 rounds at a practice session and that amounts to maybe an hour at the range with probably less than 5 minutes of actual shooting in total.

Here is the press release from Congressman Robert Garcia, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz The link to the bill is in the article.

From a quick read it seems like you can get up to 1000 rounds but the amount of bureaucracy and paperwork required for purchases would be incomprehensible. Every dealer would have to track all ammo purchases, buyers would have to sighn an affidavit stating they are not over the limit, and the government would be notified. I would like to see the proposed cost of this legislation.

This bill is a joke, is just grandstanding, and will never be passed.

It'll never pass, but this is just a reminder to not let your guard down. It would also require the serialization of ammo, which is wildly impractical.

I'm shocked they'd let it be that high, it sounds like they're pushing for Japanese like regulations on ammunition sales. In the end as always it will only affect legal gun owners if in the slim chance it would pass.

This. There is zero chance this will pass at this time with the current speaker of the house and going into an election year. It is literally Warren and Garcia virtue signaling to their base so they can say *see, I did this, this and this. I am trying, I just don*t have the support in congress but that is not my fault, we need more freedom hating reps to get this through*.

It*s good to be aware of, but not worth wasting much energy or thought on when there are so many more immediate issues to focus on like supporting groups who are fighting the bump stock fight, the pistol brace rule and many other threats.

It should be used as a push to get out to vote and remind people what is on the table if the government is given to those like Warren. It should be used to keep people focused on not allowing democrats to regain the house, get a filibuster proof Senate (or enough control of the government they feel comfortable doing away with the filibuster) and maintain the presidency.
