FFLs who don't have an 07 'Manufacturing' license can make "homemade" firearms just like the rest of us......for personal use. Also, like the rest of us, they can be sold later, so long as applicable laws are followed.

OK, so to sidestep this "new regulation" legally, what if everyone used the same number to serialize their home built gun ? What if you micro stamped a serial number on the gun ? It would meet the new requirement .
Lower your expectations to zero and you'll never be disappointed.

Something makes me think that a builder has to have his name on it too.

Apparently a "kit" that has all the parts to make firearm will require a 4473 from an FFL, and be serialized.

So, a threaded pipe, and an end cap, and a nail by these regulations would be a "kit".

This means every hardware store and plumbing store is going to need to get FFLs and serialize all their pipes and do transfers on all applicable sales.

There is a big difference between selling plumbing parts and selling a gun kit that uses pipe and fittings....Screenshot_20220416-210258_Chrome.jpg

Regulation by the ATF says serial number stamps must be at least 1/8" type. I already crossed that bridge thinking of one of those things that could write your name on a grain of rice.

The ATF requires the serial number of a PMF to be .003 of an inch deep and not less than 1/16 of an in in height. They also require the following information; the model, the caliber or gauge, the name of the manufacturer or recognized abbreviation, the city and state or recognized abbreviation where the PMF was manufactured and it cannot be a duplicate of any other PMF's serial number.
We the people love our country so let the government fear us.
