So I got the rear sight on. I like it much better.

I threw the Tru Glo on just for looks, but, of course I need a riser for it.

I do think I will be going with Romeo 5

    Before

    After

I've got an AR with the Holosun and another with the Romeo5. Both have been 100% reliable and I like them both equally. I perceive the Romeo5 to be a little better quality just because of the name and advertising but I like shooting with the circle-dot reticle of the Holosun better, I prefer an absolute co-witness over 1/3. The shake-awake and battery life on both of them are second to none, seriously, Ive had an Eotech, which worked fine, but for battery life I won't consider anything with less than thousands of hours of battery, and shake -awake. Either way I trust them both to work when I need them.
Anyway, if this is going to be a "battle rifle", or something that may be exposed to trauma or the elements, I suggest spending a little more for a QD mount for whatever optic you get. I assume you wanted backup sights Incase something happens to your optic, so you already know there may be a situation when that optic isn't useful or may even be difficult/impossible to see through.

I put a Daniel Defense rear on one of mine that is specifically made for the A2 front sight. Think it was around $70. It's extremely well made. Far, far better than a MBUS.

Finally picked up a red dot. Went with the Vortex Sparc AR

Love the warranty. And it comes with two ways to mount, both absolute co-witness, or add a shim, and it raises to lower 1/3 co-witness

BUIS is just that, so the Magpul will do the job and not very expensive. If you*re going to primarily use the optic with a A2 fsb on your barrel the lower 1/3 is the best option unless you like more of the fsb obstructing your view.

That's what I figured. I went with the lower 1/3. I am hoping to get to the range this morning to try it out, get it zeroed
