Illinois bound
Woo hooo, T minus 36 hours and counting until I leave to bowhunt Fulton county Ill. for two weeks. I can't hardly keep a lid on my excitement. Big bucks galore and rest and relaxation as well. No guides, private property and 3good friends. It doesn't get much better than that.

Re: Illinois bound
Welcome My wife is from Fulton County between Astoria and Rushville. I used to have about 40 square miles down there to hunt. You will have some of the best deer country around. Fulton Co. is one of the most productive countys. Good Luck

If you get a chance try the Slaw Dog restaurant in Astoria. Let us know how you do.

Re: Illinois bound
What, they wouldn't let you bring guns into Illinois? Haha, J/K.
That sounds awesome, they've got some monsters out there for sure. Good Luck!

Re: Illinois bound
Well Brad did you get one of our MONSTER bucks? My wife and friend(long story) got a 12 point that weighed 209lbs. field dressed. Nate said that he scored 167 points.

Re: Illinois bound
I had ample opportunity to shoot 130" to 160"s and was truely left heart broken by 3 different bucks all over 180". I got some fantastic video and was by far the best trip I had ever been on in 20 years of hunting big game with rifle or archery tackle USA and abroad. I am anxious for next year already. Our group of four all shot does and 1 shot a 139" 8 point last day. We hunted 10 days archery sun up until sun down and saw between 15 and 27 bucks per day. It is hard to let a 160" buck walk, but greed wins and I lost. Thans for asking and maybe I'll shoot that monster next year. How about your buck? what happened?

Re: Illinois bound
I do not hunt just serve as a gun slave and support my wife. Not against hunting just does not intrest me anymore. We talked today about maybe doing a spring turkey hunt. The sad thing is that we own 21.5 acres of some of the best hunting timber around.

I hope you have some great pics when you get back. A bud of mine just sent me pics of his son with a 215 inch NT he got in IL. Good hunting and stay safe.
