Warm weather. Not yet. It’s snowing outside.
But I digress…..looking forward to putting the Nelson .22 conversion on to my Gold Gup. Two .22 rifles that get a lot of use are 10-22 take down with aftermarket aperture sight that mimic an AR15 and the furniture that carries that through for practice. Spring is when I take the Anschutz fortner bolt out for smallbore prone.

I love my 10/22s but I think my favorite 22 to shoot is my ATI 1911.

I miss the days of going to the dump and shooting stuff just to watch it break. Setting up bottles and jars and whatever else we could find.

That was how my Dad taught me to shoot. We used to shoot rats also. Started when I was about 5 years old with a Winchester single shot .22. That same rifle has also used to teach my brother and sister and both my son and daughter when they were big enough to hold it up. I still have it and it is still as accurate as ever.

Many moons ago there was a dump in our township. Once in a while we would cruise in there on midnights, light it up with the spotlight, and deplete the rat population a little with .22s.

One of my favorites is the NECCOs Candy disks ,They make great targets that burst in a colorful cloud of dust !
