Perfectly legal where I'm at. Just never had them close enough or still enough.

They have been in Clinton, Centre and Lycoming Counties for decades. Their numbers fluctuate quite a bit. In general, if you see a lot of rabbits, (not so much),chipmunks, deer and field mice and even some extra whitetails, (yea! right!), the coyote signs usually rise as well. I spend a lot of time in the Cincinnati Ohio area and even in the suburbs and congested areas all around the city, you will see coyotes. I don't hunt them specifically but will kill one if seen in bear or deer seasons. I can live with coyotes much better than I can with wild hogs. That is an animal that we really don't want in Penn's Woods.

Wife and I were out taking pics of birds near Peace Valley park yesterday. She took pics of a fox while I was driving. I think it was a coyote , she says fox. It was big for a fox, not the right coloring, heavier coat, but it moved and acted like a
Fox. Kept stopping in the road, looking for food in a field, then moving and sitting in the road while watching for
    Food.
I*ll know for sure when the pics get posted tonight.

I'm not good at copying info. from other sources, here on my Samsung tablet. Having said that, I just searched the PGC's site, using "coyote harvest" as my searc term and came up with 29,634 as the 2020 harvest, with a high of 44,440 in 2017. That's just the number of coyotes reported as harvested by the PGC.
