Pro 2A group for law enforcement
Might be a long shot but does anyone know of a group that is Pro 2A, that is for people work in law enforcement?
Every time a State talks about adopting Constitutional Carry, I keep seeing articles like Chief of Police, Sheriff, are against it.
I have actually emailed a few of these folks, but it never goes anywhere
As someone who works in law enforcement, and is very Pro 2A, I would like to be a part of a group that has a same mindset.

Re: Pro 2A group for law enforcement
I recall photo ops showing chiefs of police standing with Bill Clinton as he pushed his original Assault Weapons Ban, and...the Fraternal Order of Police there too. I was really pissed, because neither the FOP nor any chief of police had solicited the wants of the rank and file in any fashion, so
THEY WERE NOT REPRESENTING THE POLICE OFFICERS, ONLY THEMSELVES... for purely political and fiscal reasons.
OP is a good question. Standing by with keen interest.Last edited by Bang; February 2nd, 2022 at 02:44 PM.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: Pro 2A group for law enforcement
It's really frustrating.
What drives me nuts, as we all know, is that criminals don't obey the laws anyways.
Most are already breaking a law by possessing a weapon, or maybe they legally were allowed to own a weapon, but don't obtain it in a legal manner, then then use it to commit a crime. And many of those continue to obtain more weapons again and again
I am constantly seeing people arrested multiple times for person not to possess.
Then, when you look at what Constitutional carry really is, it doesn't actually do anything to allow people who legally own or carry a gun to do so. The whole thing is so ridiculous

I hear you. I have a degree in Social Work and work in behavioral health services, so as a conservative, I am a small minority in my workplace/career field.
Places like this board are a start...

I know of many in LE who are pro 2a, but not of any designated groups.

Re: Pro 2A group for law enforcement
What's interesting is most people I know in law enforcement are Pro 2A. It seems that just the Chiefs, Sheriffs, ie elected/appointed officials are the ones speaking out against it

Re: Pro 2A group for law enforcement
My .02 is that most of them that I knew were as indifferent towards the 2A as I was. Which I think is representative of the public as a whole.
The outspoken are almost always politically motivated by party or they have something to lose in terms of the fees that the licensing process brings in.
YMMV

The Chiefs of Police Association has been rabid anti gun since I can remember back at least to about 1980 or so. The FoP is a union and it'll depend on the locals and leadership whether they go along with the National organization but the National is a a pro-democrat anti gun anti freedom organization.
Corruption is the default behavior of government officials. JPC
