My new SKS
Finally got it. Went to show in Reading but didn't like the prices or that most were in cosmoline. Went to Guntraders, he had a good price and it was clean.

Beauty, I bought one myself Friday evening but the wood isn't that good looking. Cleaned off all the cosmoline, still want to check the headspace before I fire it.

They are about as attractive as Clark Griswold's station wagon, but they are fun guns. The triggers blow, but they make awesome clubs if you run out of ammo. Looks like you have one of the nicer ones. Congrats, you will have fun with it. I don't plan on parting with mine any time soon.
You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.

Re: My new SKS
Mine is in about the same shape as yours. Still shoots great (off hand hits on a man size steel target at 300yds w/ open sights) and never had a problem feeding, extracting or ejecting except when I tried a polymer 30 rd magazine. Hang on to that one. Like someone else mentioned, its not much of a looker but itll run.

Re: My new SKS
Theyre Not beauty Queens, theyre military weapons meant to kill people and they will kill you out and beyond 300 yards, If you use the Hansen Ammo imported in the 80;s and 90's it will give you a killing range out to 420 yards.
Theyre a good all purpose weapon, in Russian Siberia people use it to hunt Elk.
I have a collection of them, never a problem, and the more you use the trigger the better they get.
