Here's how I handled a barrel install without a workbench! LOL!

I've since moved to a modified hitch mount truck step that I mount the vice to when I need it.
(pic taken before I decided on how to mount it)

I'm not sure about that particular handguard. I have an ATLAS S-1 handguard, but can't recall how it attached or if it required a special wrench - it may have had a crows foot type wrench, but I'd have to look it up.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Thanks so much for the reply. It is an atlas one, M5 hand guards that I am told uses a standard LR308 AR barrel wrench. It is definitely not the enhanced Aero receiver Handguard.

I just saw a thread elsewhere saying aero recommends the tapco ar15 armorers wrench. Apparently the part you use for the delta ring fits the ar10 barrel nut?? Those are pretty common you should be able to find someone local to loan it to ya.

    That should work.

Thanks! That’s not the barrel nut. It is the Atlas one Handguard for the NOT enhanced upper receiver.

Is the issue that the wrench you have won't fit over the barrel, or it just doesn't have the right teeth to interface with the nut?see some possible solutions here. May involve taking a grinder or dremel to the wrench. https://www.reddit.com/r/AR10/commen...el_nut_wrench/

Edit: OH! I do have an ar15 atlas nut wrench. Your rail didn't come with it?? Get in touch with aero, they are supposed to. If they won't help, I'll send it to you for shipping cost if you think it'll work.

Ar15 nut is about 1*" OD. If yours is too, it's available.

When I built my Aero M5, at the time, I didn't have the tools to assemble the upper myself either. I took it to Allegheny Arms and they did a pretty good job for. I believe they charged $50 plus tax for the work.
