    Default Springfield Hellion Bullpup Rifle

Springfield announces the Hellion Bullpup, an import of the Croatian VHS-2 bullpup rifle. Looks interesting, though I'm not loving the price.

    Que the "Never Springfield" folks...

It looks like the result of a one night stand between a G36 and a FAMAS. I want it just for that.

I want it bad. Not for $2k though—at least not yet. It will absolutely stay on my radar for the next few years and if I spot a BIN price on reddit gundeals I'll def be getting it.

I've wanted a bullpup and this ticks all the boxes in terms of mag compatibility, 1000% ambi, modular enough with future parts. The only thing that is keeping me from buying it right now is InRangeTV hasn't done a mud test yet but I imagine since they posted a match video they already have the mud test filmed.

Here is the aforementioned match video

Street price should be around what AUGs and Tavors go for.

I wouldn't mind having one but closer to the $1200-1500 mark. Closer to 2000 you're in LWRC, DD, even LMT territory. Overall length be damned at that point...

Never going to happen. The price of non-AR tactical rifles is artificially inflated to keep them "exclusive". Just look at the keltec bullpups, they were selling for less than a grand and how many people do you know that actually want one?

It will take a while, but the Hellion will eventually be around $1500, if only for a short time. The Tavor and AUG both had their cheap days. But when those happen, you need to jump right away. As for the Kel Tec RDB, they sell. When they were first released, people were paying retail or more. Then things settled down for a couple of years. About a year prior to the pandemic, they were more plentiful and prices were in the $700-800 range. I paid $750 for mine. Now they're around $850-1000 for the standard. The Survival model is still selling for $1k+. People are still buying them when they can find them.

I wanted a Tavor forever but never took the leap. My new bullpup desire is the Desert Tech MDRX but those damn things jumped up several hundred in price once the pandemic hit.
