I am a stubborn asshole, so I shoot a 6.5x300 Weatherby just to drive both of them nuts.
For deer, when I did hunt them, I used .30-30, .32WinSpl, .45-70, and .357Mag. ....all of which worked, deer haven't developed kevlar hides yet. Most were taken close enough to kill them with some angry words.

Already been done. .44AMP, and the .357AMP and .41JMP based off the .44AMP.

I am willing to bet I could be wrong, but I think if enough manufactures (both ammo and weapons) get behind this, it will take off.

This is NOT a good time to release a new caliber and guns that use it. I found it hilarious how S&W's marketing video showed rounds with no primers in them... ROFL...

Yeah, and god knows what the ammo will cost. I'll stick with my 9mm.

...that feeling when you know you picked the right caliber... (9mm) Plentiful, cheap(er), effective.
