I agree. It looked to me like they simply resized the brass without annealing. I wouldn't doubt that seating the bullets caused the failure. The mix of powders was odd.
2 cartridges without powder within 20 loadings also seemed off.

    So much fail.
The father had a 6.5 .06 long distance shooter so the lack.of quality kind of surprised me.unless his son actually did all.of this reloading.

The only reloads I shoot are mine or my daughters.

I'm shooting my dad's reloads, with his guns. Not that I trusted him all that much lol, but he really enjoyed his revolvers and he enjoyed reloading, and it makes me feel good to use them.

NEVER-EVER use reloaded ammunition that you did not assemble yourself. Any reloaded ammunition you acquire should be broken down into components.

Short answer, no way. It’s another form of Russian roulette.

Many people who reload are careless and ill informed. On several occasions, including just last week, I’ve seen misfires and jams with ammo made by guys with supposedly decades of experience.

I wont stand close to them, let alone shoot their reloads.

My dad got into reloading some years back. In very typical fashion he went out and bought ALL the toys/equipment - top of the line / best money could buy stuff. Then he proceeded to watch a bunch of YouTube videos about how to do it, from which he got the expected mix of good / bad / wrong / dangerous and often-contradictory advice. He made a few trips to the range with his reloads, with poor results. Just a bunch of misfires & jams, nothing especially dramatic. Also in typical fashion, after a few unsuccessful tries, he shoved all the equipment into storage and gave it up.

Guess what? He gave away a few hundred rounds of the leftover reloads.

Plus I don't reload myself, so I'm in no position to even possibly 'assess' if others have done a good job.

So I'm a 'hard no' on it.

If I had no idea who did the reloading, it would be a HELL NO! I load for myself and for 2 neighbors, 30-30 and 35 rem for the man I sold my 35 to. I weight each powder charge on a beam scale and periodically double check with digital.

Pull the bullets and salvage primed cases if they're in good shape and bullets to be reloaded by yourself. Use the powder as fertilizer in your garden or toss it in your burning barrel.

All done. Usable brass is clean, deprimed. Trimmed to length, inspected under magnifier.

I still have to run a hook inside the case to check for any thinning of the case wall above the belt.

Pulled bullets are 140 failsafe, 140 and 150gr nosler ballistic tips.
    Practice ammo.

My once fired brass will see 131 grain Hammer Hunters over IMR4350. Or if I can find more. Rl23
