Good guns are getting hard to find....
I just don't know WTH is going on after this election. I picked up a nice old Ithaca 37 riot gun and a Mint Russian SKS for under $300.00 each today. I know that things are tight, but I just wanted to share this as misery loves company.

I like the Russian SKSs. Did it have laminate furniture? Who imported it?

Re: Good guns are getting hard to find....
The furniture is not laminated, but it has not been rebuilt. It is mint+, but my son and I put 20 rounds through it. I think that my son kind of liked it - so I like it! I am pretty sure that it is a CAI import. It shot well though. It just barked and gently rolled. I am pleased.
Now my shotgun brought back memories of my recent shoulder surgery after 45 rounds of OO Buck. Thank God that my left shoulder was the one that I had surgery on. My face even hurts.

I know some of the Russians were imported by a company in Harrisburg. The name escapes me right now. Nice purchase.

Re: Good guns are getting hard to find....
Thanks. I am into more modern weaponry, but I thought that these were good to pick up while they can still be had. I have a feeling that the good days of collecting and ownership are rapidly coming to a close as the fabric of our nation evolves?

Re: Good guns are getting hard to find....
Thanks, yes, all the Romys I've seen have been a little more "used" than say, the Russians, or Chinese. Saw a couple that looked like they were dragged through a gravel pit. They were supposed to be relatively newer, too. They just looked really rough.
Again, thanks for the info.
