Question I see sparks from the firing pin on my M&P340

I've been dry firing a brand new M&P340. I noticed that there are small flashes that can be seen from the side. I have been using A-ZOOM snap caps. At first I thought it was something to do with the firing pin striking them. Just to be sure, I dumped the snap caps and tried a few more dry fires. Same sparks! I can't find Smith & Wesson's customer service email address on their website. They just have old fashioned addresses. So I ask here. Is anyone familiar with this phenomena? Is it something I should worry about? I've never seen this before in any revolver. It's a surprisingly bright flash. I'm only dry firing it to get used to the trigger and smooth it out.

    Any insights would be welcome.

    Thanks.

I think have solved the "shortage of primers" problem.

Well now I know where S&W got their designs from. Sounds like it may be another case of patent infringement.

    That's pretty funny.
On a more serious note if any of the parts you're smacking together when you dry fire it are titanium, that's the likely culprit.

Your fine it's a flintlock, trickle a bit of 4F in there with each mag change and get on with life

I don*t have any insight into this situation but I would absolutely love to see a video of this occurring.

Check one of the S&W forums. Supposedly it's pretty common.

Now hold on there! I think this would make dry firing this pistol in Calafornication an extreme fire hazard and could explain a few of the wildfires where no wires of Pacific Gas and Electric were down and they didn't get stuck with the cause. I'm pretty sure that the Shudo Sparking Ray Gun is NOT California compliant, and they cannot be imported there anymore!!! I would check the S&W catalog and see if they have non-sparking firing pins and assemblies.
