Credit cards? Not in Erie County. Still 20 bucks. CASH only. No Canadian coins.
What the hell is a Convenience fee?

All Pennsylvania applicants are required to have a valid Pennsylvania driver*s license or a government-issued photo ID and must pay a a fee of $20 (cash only) at the time the application is submitted.

Unless something has changed, it's my understanding the $20 price tag was by law and they couldn't change more?
Also thought most of it had to be refundable if they don't issue the license.

The sheriff is a Dem. I'm guessing he figures what's good for Brandon's dollar needs is good for Bucks county.

Pretty sure Butler county too is still $20 cash or check only. That doesn't seem right.

I've seen this before...Lancaster County now allows you to submit LTCF online with online payment. Moving into the 21st century!

If they did this in Pittsburgh.. It would save me money on the parking lol

Re: Five bucks more for LTCF app ($25 non-refundable)
My understanding of the logic behind this is the cost is $20. If you want to be able to use a credit/debit card instead of cash/check and in some cases doing it all online, they'll let you do that for a bit more money. But since it isn't required and you can get it for $20 if you don't want the additional services, it doesn't actually violate the law.
Same thing as if you want a limo to pick you up and take you to the courthouse and then drop you back off, you can pay for that, but it isn't part of getting the LTCF.

Re: Five bucks more for LTCF app ($25 non-refundable)
Due to the pandemic, PA BMV was taking online renewal of driver's licenses and using the photo on the expiring one, mailed out the new one.
That is what I call convenience, not having to pick it up in person. Hell, people could attach a selfie if they want a more current photo. I'd be more than happy to pay another five or ten bucks to have it mailed to me. May as well, since I am forced to take part in the violation of my 2nd amendment right. There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

This kind of convenience fee makes sense to me... but if you allow it to continue, it WILL be abused.
