best CCW holster for 1911 4" (champion sized)
Now, before I get yelled at for not using the search button, here me out.
I have been researching this for quite a few days over several forums. However, none of the ones I found seem to be recent. They are all at least a year and a half old. I am sure that there have been newer holsters that have been tried since then.
SOOOO... as the title says, I am looking for a CCW holster for a 4" 1911 (s/a loaded champ to be exact). I plan on a lot of carry time as I am away from home for most of the day every day.
What are some CURRENT recommendations that you guys can offer? The really important things that I am looking for are:
(1) will not wear finish extremely fast
(2) will not break the bank (i know, "go cheap, go twice" but funds are limited right now)
(3) must be leather... but am curious about the cross-breeds. anybody have for this size of gun???
Thanks in advance.

Milt Spark VMII for IWB Bulman pancake for OWB or check out some of Tucker's offerings. He makes a couple kydex/leather rigs that are very nice. The Tuckers might make a little better training holster too.

sorry,
i forgot #4, I really don't want to wait for 6 months to get the holster if I can avoid it.
I do plan on getting one eventually (actually a VM2 is the exact model I have set my sights on), but for now, I need something I can get within a week or two.

Do you guys have any experience with a dm bullard IWB???
I found one on Ebay for $69.99 shipped. I don't want to blow that much that could be put towards a VM2, but if it is decent, I could probably live with it until income tax time.

This http://www.raftersgunleather.com/Holsters.htm will fit the first three of what you are after, don't know about the 4th (waiting) is, I've use his IWB, OWB and belts for my Kimber Compact 4" and love it. But If you are looking for low ride holster, they are NOT the one you want, most of them are designed for wearing at 3-5 o'clock position.
I like them because of their high ride style, the IWB sit perfectly and sercurely for my style, I can run/jump/bending and just about anything in my daily movement and felt very good, no muzzle poking on my body part, no need to reposition/adjusting it and most of all, no back pain after a day of carry it.

I very much like the Old El Paso C-Force or the Mitch Rosen ARG. Both have worked very well in that size for me. They also tend to be in the reasonable price range!

Carry my Champion everyday. Carry in a Blackhawk Serpa. Love it. Not leather though. You can get one of these till your fancy leather one comes in...
