PICS Delayed me. My first time ever since PICS went online.

I bought two guns 3 days apart before Thanksgiving. For the first one the check took an hour and a half. It was approved 10 minutes before the store closed and they were kind enough to ring me up while the store was closing up for the day. Same store 3 days later I waited over an hour and the clerk told me to go home and they would call the next day with my status. They called about an hour before they closed the next day and told me it just came back as approved, come pick it up. In both instances several other people bought guns and were out the door in 15 minutes or so. Clerk told me he had seen a trend of people whose names ended with certain letters taking longer than usual over the previous few weeks, but wasn't sure if it was a coincidence.

I'd say 50% of my purchases take about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. I've had a few that took almost 2 hours to complete and a couple I've got approved in less than 5 minutes. One of those being out of state which surprised me it was so quick. Ironically the ones that dealers still have to phone in have taken the least amount of time on average vs the ones uploaded online directly through tablets or computers.
