I've seen Mossberg Plinksters go for $100 brand new.. the used market is volatile enough that you'll just have to see what's at your local shops.

I have a Marlin 980S-CF bolt action .22lr, cost me $260 brand new. The entire gun is stainless steel, with a synthetic stock. I left that gun out in the rain for a day, and didn't get around to cleaning it until two days after that. Not a spec of rust on it. Can't say the same for the rest of the guns I forgot to clean promptly.

been there didnt oil down my one rifle before putting it away it formed light rust all over it i was able to save it but i will never do that again. thus why i want something cheap if it rusts then oh well or if it breaks or anything just dont want to be out a whole lot.... my one buddys dad had a .22 that he kept in his jeep (no roof) on his property the whole thing was rust but still fired. the gun was so bad you couldnt even read who made anymore it but it served its job for pest controll on their farm. heck if he would be willing to sell it id possibly buy it

I've had my eyes open for a cheap Marlin .22 (60 or 981t). Seems like a lot of places quit selling them because they couldn't compete with Walmart's prices but there are no Walmarts in this area that sell firearms! When I've seen used ones they still aren't as cheap as Walmart's list price or Cabelas sale prices.

what happend to prices especially used at a lot of places i mean come on its a .22 not a deer rifle. the new prices i can understand but it seems a lot of people want what they paid for the thing when they bought it new after they are done abusing it. i been looking for a glenfield because they are supposedly cheap but i have seen them going for 150 i can just buy another plinkster in that price rage then add a scope. i wish wally mart still sold rifles they were cheap although id rather help a local gun shop thana major corp. with a rifle purchase
