Maybe they had a limit on withdrawal amount. I have to go to a bank in person if I want to withdraw more than $500 from an ATM (something that I have chosen). It hasn't bit me.....yet.

It doesn't matter.......they are going to lose everything. I believe these charges are bogus but they will be in jail with no income for the next 6-12 months. When they get out they will be homeless with no job.

    From the WSJ.

Parents of Michigan School Shooter Ethan Crumbley Sentenced to 10-15 Years in Prison
James and Jennifer Crumbley said they didn’t know of their son’s troubles or plans

    By Joe Barrett
    Updated April 9, 2024 2:51 pm ET

A Michigan judge sentenced the parents of a teenager who killed four classmates at his high school to 10 to 15 years in prison each, the first parents of a school shooter to be held directly responsible for their child’s attack.

James and Jennifer Crumbley were each convicted of four counts of unintentional homicide in separate trials that ended in February and March. Their son, Ethan Crumbley, pleaded guilty to four counts of murder in the 2021 killings at Oxford High School about 40 miles north of Detroit and is serving life in prison.

Neither defendant showed a strong reaction to the decision, and both impassively signed various forms before being escorted out of the courtroom.

“These convictions were not about poor parenting,” said Judge Cheryl Matthews. “These convictions convey repeated acts or lack of acts that could have halted an oncoming runaway train.”

Prosecutors had sought 10 to 15 years each for the parents, higher than state minimum sentencing recommendations of 43 to 86 months, citing what they called a lack of remorse by the parents and threatening comments directed at the district attorney made by James Crumbley in jailhouse telephone calls.

    ...

At trial, prosecutors portrayed both parents as unconcerned by their son’s deteriorating mental state, failing to take him home after a troubling meeting with school officials the day of the shooting and failing to securely store the gun used in the attack.

I notice that none of the cops or deputies who have loitered outside during active shootings, have been prosecuted.
Just the parents, mostly for being gun owners.
Which is worse, being paid to protect people and then refusing to intervene WHILE BULLETS ARE FLYING, or being a parent who's blind to the failings of their child?

I bet if you check that judge out, she's been consistently as tough as possible on whomever had a gun.

So I was going to refrain from commenting since my family lives in the next town and their school was due to be shot up the next day plus they had friends at Oxford. But I listened to Mr Crumbley*s words and also the judge and the judge stated during sentencing that the sentence will also reflect to the conduct and the goal to deter others from similar conduct. That seems to me she is making him an example and his sentence isn*t reflecting his crimes. I*m not an attorney but even manslaughter I don*t see it. Manslaughter is accidental death which Mr Crumbley did not commit. I do believe he did commit some crimes he should be responsible for but manslaughter isn*t one of them. Am I wrong? And if I am why hasn’t the school admin been held to that same accountability
