Got two does in Alabama on Thanksgiving weekend. I was very excited as it's my first harvest with my own handloads, as it's been over 40 years since someone in my family did so. Also first with my AR10 which I love.

Deer were scarce this week,They dont come out of the heavy Laurels till after dark !

Yesterday I sat in my stand until 9, nothing. I hiked around scouting a couple hours. I found a spot where they were digging for acorns that looked fresh so I moved my stand. Seen a spike around 4 but that was it.

Was thinking of heading to game land today but decided not to because of weather. Loading some possible hunting rounds to try at the range instead

I got out on Thursday and Friday did not see any deer until on the way home . felt bad for the people who were out this am it did not look pleasant out there . did see a lot more this year than last year .

went to a successful spot in game lands Friday. I was the only one there all morning. Saw nothing.

I've noticed a decrease in hunters this year.

Decided weather wasn't good for hunting Saturday.

Total deer seen = 5 in 10 days. Believe all were doe (some were runners)

All the seasons combining I've seen around 30 deer. Three shooters. One was an absolute giant. He was probably around a 140 in deer. I think he was an 8. I shot a buck looked like a 7pt that was probably a 2 1/2 yr old with my crossbow. Never found him. I think I hit him low, he was 6 yards farther than I thought. My uncle an cousins all killed decent bucks and seen a couple wall hangers. They put in way time scouting this year than I did. I'm starting now for next year. Pa has a ton of big bucks on public land. Maybe more than ever. You just have to put in the time.

3 Saturdays, saw 2 shoot able buck but no shot. Went out for a few hours at sgl 110 this morning, zero action. Maybe next year.

Went out Friday afternoon with the neighbors and pushed a couple of thicket*s and put up 5 buck in one small patch. Not 1 shooter amongst the whole group. Good part, we know there will be 5 buck next year.
