    Default New Forum Index Arrangement

The newly arranged Forum Index looks great! Much cleaner and easier to navigate!

I did have two small suggestions though...would it be better to put the "Where to (or not to) Spend Money" forum under the "Market Place" parent forum? Also, the "Online Target Competition" forum could actually be a sub forum of "competition and Tactics." That would clean the "Discussion" parent forum up even more! Just a thought...it looks great either way! Job well done!

I have to disagree, I do not like the new sub-forums. I don't think its easier to navigate at all. Oh well, guess I'll just have to get used to it.

To Dan: I do however appreciate all the hard work and blood you put into this site!!

I'm not done yet, I still have a few forums to rename and move, but I did about 90% of it last night.

The problem was the forum structure (originally) just sort of grew dynamically without any sort of planning.

My goals in the reorganization were:

    1. Decrease the length of the main forum page by utilizing 3rd-level forums (I finally figured out how to make vBulletin's templates display them.)
    2. Create better "buckets" for posts that will encourage more proper categorization of posts and reduce the time spend by mods moving threads.
    3. Remove and merge some forums that really just weren't used at all.
    4. Create more of a distinction between gun talk and gun politics talk (still working on that)

Perhaps the "Law & Politics - National" and "Law & Politics - Pennsylvania" subforums should be merged into a single "Law & Politics" subforum. Some threads about law/politics, especially the more abstract ones, do not fit cleanly into either National or Pennsylvania.

That's one of the changes I have not yet made.

The Entire new section made to contain "The Lounge" and only "The Lounge" kinda threw me. Since it's the only thing in that section why not just throw it back under discussion? It it because it's not "gun related"?

or how bout just get rid of the lounge totally... i think thats the basis of moving it to the bottom and putting it in its own place... to basically get rid of it but not have people whining about it..i wouldnt mind if it was gone totally

The Lounge is moved to the bottom because it is completely off-topic and not related to firearms. If people really want to post pictures of cats, they can scroll to the bottom

Eventually there might be another forum or two in the Miscellaneous section for letting people test posting threads, etc.
