No more buckshot in Special Regulation Areas!

The game commission posted this on November 17, 2021. If you scroll down to the “special Regulation area”, you can read what was posted.

Copy/paste of article “Deer hunters in most of the state’s Special Regulations Areas this season may use straight-walled cartridges in addition to other lawful ammunition, but buckshot no longer is permitted for deer hunting in any Special Regulations Area, except where authorized under special hunt conditions on state park properties (Ridley Creek and Tyler State Parks)”

This years Hunting Trapping Digest for PA still lists buckshot as authorized in the special regs area. I prefer slugs but usually keep a 00 round or two in my bag should the right situation present itself.

Yep, but if you read the link posted, the game commission knows that the digest says buckshot is legal, but since the printing, has changed the regulation. They also mentioned that they will not be enforcing the new regulation this year if caught with buckshot, but will educate the person of the new regulation.
