    Default Transporting a Firearms

I have been told that firearms transported in PA (for example to and from the range) must have ammo in a separate container.. can someone point me to where this is defined in the law?
    thanks

If you have a LTCF, that only applies to rifles. If you don't, it applies to all peashooters. I don't know where the legalese is located.

Loaded magazines must be in a separate container, loose or boxed ammo can be anywhere near the gun."

but I am not certain the law behind this.

Well, this has me curious now. I have LTCF and never have a loaded rifle in my vehicle, because I’m aware of that law (BS, but whatever). I never knew that law included a “separate container” requirement?? I thought the separate container deal was for interstate transport through commie zones (FOPA)

When I transport my AR, it’s in a hard case with 3 30 rd mags. No mag in the mag well, chamber empty.

The laws are not logical but my understanding is it must be in a separate container but the separate container can be the pouches on the outside of the case.

The irony of it all is quite amusing.

We are a bunch of idiots, constantly jumping through hoops to stay on the right side of the most convoluted set of laws that even vary drastically when you CROSS STATE LINES… and if/when you make an innocent mistake or oversight, you risk your right to ownership.

Yet, prohibited criminals get a slap on the wrist for possession

You're not kidding. We get the Kyle Rittenhouse treatment and they just get more free stuff.

this is exactly why I am asking the question.. I am interested to see where this mindset of separate containers has come from..

Pretty sure it's not just a "mindset" - it's the way it's written.

That said, I'm not looking for it. Sorry.
