Transporting a Firearms
I have been told that firearms transported in PA (for example to and from the range) must have ammo in a separate container.. can someone point me to where this is defined in the law?
thanks

Re: Transporting a Firearms
I did look through that and saw
"Before you ask, long guns cannot be carried or transported loaded in a vehicle - whether you are licensed or not. Unloaded long guns may be transported throughout the state without a license, except in a City of the First Class(Philly) or during a declared state of emergency - which those two situations require a LTCF. Loaded magazines must be in a separate container, loose or boxed ammo can be anywhere near the gun."
but I am not certain the law behind this.

Re: Transporting a Firearms
Well, this has me curious now. I have LTCF and never have a loaded rifle in my vehicle, because I’m aware of that law (BS, but whatever). I never knew that law included a “separate container” requirement?? I thought the separate container deal was for interstate transport through commie zones (FOPA)
When I transport my AR, it’s in a hard case with 3 30 rd mags. No mag in the mag well, chamber empty.

The irony of it all is quite amusing.
We are a bunch of idiots, constantly jumping through hoops to stay on the right side of the most convoluted set of laws that even vary drastically when you CROSS STATE LINES… and if/when you make an innocent mistake or oversight, you risk your right to ownership.
Yet, prohibited criminals get a slap on the wrist for possession
