I'm guessing you knew SOMETHING about guns to even know you didn't want a safety.
I wouldn't put you in the same category. (at that point)
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Even though striker fired handguns are basically the thing for duty type pistols today, I never enjoy shooting them that much. I shoot hammer fired pistols better and that I know for a fact because my competition scores are about 5-10% better with hammer fired guns.

In a moment of darkness I bought my one and only striker fired plastic pistol. A S&W shield when they were on sale for a little over $200 new and I specifically bought one without an external safety. And to be honest I started to like it.
I would never buy a gun with a safety. Or one that feels like a 2x4.

Safeties automatically maker it more saferer.

They should trade their glocks in for phoenix .22's, the only pistol with two manual safeties.

Sans safety and hammer fired sounds like a revolver to me. And, if external safety missing brings back unfired Glocks, it would seem there should also be a load of revolvers coming back as well.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

My first gun was a Glock...because I wanted it to go bang when pulling the trigger.

Trigger disclipine and finger placement off the trigger is key.
