More than 500,000 Pennsylvanians are registered to hunt in the next few weeks, but the number who actually make it out into the woods could be lower this year.

If anyone wants some .30-30 ammo, and needs it to go hunting, I have some you can have. Not sure how much - less than a box. May be 10 or even 5 rounds.

I guess buying a box every 5-10 years didn't work out for many.

I buy one box every year. I go to my local club. I spend 30 minutes setting up my targets, while all the maniacs shooting multiple boxes of ammo have to wait. Then I take one shot and call "clear" again. My entire party walks down to the backstop and we stand there for 15 minutes discussing the one shot group. We do this for 4 more shots, then we leave. I take the remaining 15 rounds home. Later on when prices are high, I try to sell the partial box for $4 a round.

The Fudd talk is annoying. I am a diehard hunter and the farthest thing away from being what you guys call a Fudd. For the guys that hunt one day a year, yes, they are in for a real shock when they can't find a box of ammo at Walmart this year. So instead of going to camp and drinking till 6 AM, they will stay in camp and drink all day because they don't have ammo. Wait....no they won't....the PGC ruined it by making opening day a different day of the week. When will they have a chance to check their tree stands? The towns their camps are close to are going to implode in another week...I can't take it....

Maybe it will encourage fewer mag dumps at running tails and more thoughtfully-placed shots. Especially since they're going back to "WWIII" this year i.e. concurrent buck and doe.

Saturday repeat. Sunday relax, monday hunt.
Now its roll into camp friday and do nothing.
Hunt saturday.
Do nothing sunday.
Hunt monday.

Why not just go the weekend before and do all your fucking off, go home for the next week and then go hunting on Monday?
