Magazine Round Count Envy
The Beretta 21A Bobcat 22LR has a seven round magazine capacity. The Ruger LCP II 22LR has a ten round magazine capacity. Side by side, the magazines appear to be about the same length. This makes me wonder how Ruger is getting three more rounds in.
Also, are there reliable aftermarket ten round magazines for the Bobcat that do not protrude from the bottom of the grip?
Thanks.

The Bobcat has been around a long time, the higher capacity guns are all newer tech...
No way to make the old thing work like the new one short of a whole new frame.Illegitimus non carborundum est

Re: Magazine Round Count Envy
That sounds like a challenge. Unfortunately I don't have the equipment to design and fabricate a magazine. The M16 started with 20 round magazines. 30 round magazines didn't require a change to the receiver.
Little hope of someone having done this already then.

Re: Magazine Round Count Envy
You are correct of course. But look at how little difference there is in the magazine length. Granted, the Ruger magazine does extend a bit below the grip. However, you still only get a two finger hold. If the Bobcat magazine needs a small extension to enable ten round capacity, it may well be worth it.

Re: Magazine Round Count Envy
Owned a couple of Bobcats over the years. Couldn't get them to run reliably/consistently with 7 in the mag. At the Beretta Forum, read a number of posts where the Bobcat owners down load the mag by one round for reliability. Had no problem from then on loading 6 instead of 7.

Re: Magazine Round Count Envy
I don't know if it's product improvement, ammunition selection, or just dumb luck. But so far I've had no issues running 7 in my Inox. I have just gotten the blued Covert with walnut grips. It has not been tested yet. I could get issues down the road of course. With the cold weather moving in, that will test it for sure.
