    Default Would you rather...

No other context - would you rather be armed with 5 rounds of .38+p or 11 rounds of .380? Loads are your choice.

I'm going with more rounds. The same reason I switched to 9mm for most of my carry guns. I still carry a 1911 or my Sig P229 in .357sig once in awhile though.

Yep, the question really boils down to: would you rather have 6 of something, or nothing.

Ha! Loophole. Well I guess I should say assume you have an appropriate firearm to launch them.

Given that most 5 shot .38's are snub noses you aren't even giving up that much power with all the velocity loss.

If it was 11 bbs vs. 5 rounds of just about anything else I would go with the five rounds.

Once you start getting to the .380 range I will always go with the larger number of rounds. .380 is enough to deter or stop most threats assuming you are not dealing with a bear or something along those lines. While 5 rounds of anything .380 or larger will stop most threats, its nice having ammo in reserve in case something unexpected happens.

I'll take the .380. I carry my Kahr P380 because it's small and light enough to pocket carry in my cycling shorts, and it's only 6+1.

    I prefer the additional rounds...
