Beretta Bobcat Dimples?
I just purchased a sweet Beretta 21A Bobcat in 22LR. It has three dimples machined into the left side of the slide on the bottom of the rail. Does anyone know what these are about? It seems odd to do unnecessary machining operations.

Check to see if there was ever any recall on those. Might indicate it was fixed…

Re: Beretta Bobcat Dimples?
I have a blued one. No dimples.
Definately cannot dry fire that one without snap caps. It will cease to eject

Is it new or used?

Those dimples are from the hardness testing that is done during manufacturing after heat treat. Pretty typical and nothing to worry about.
Not all slides have the dimples since not all slides are tested. They sample a certain number of slides from each production batch to test.I am not a lawyer.

Is it purchased new by you, so it's something the factory did, or used and something a previous owner did.
It does not look drilled...the domes are too rounded.
I just checked our Tomcat (.32, same configuration as the Bobcat) and there are no dimples in the slide. Will check our Bobcat for them when wife tells me where she put it.
No marks on the Bobcat either.Last edited by Bang; October 25th, 2021 at 09:02 PM.
