Default Bypass PICS with PA LTCF

I just reached out to my district representative and senator regarding a pro gun legislation I had in mind, if you agree please email/call your reps. and senator to ask politely for support. Here is my draft.

    Good Afternoon Senator/representative____,

    Hi, this is ____,
I'm reaching out to you to share my thoughts about purchasing guns in PA.
In a number of states as long as the person holds a valid License to carry firearms, they can bypass the NICS background check.
The FFL dealers (gun stores) are raising their prices just to do a gun transfer, some are charging as much as $80 per transfer.
I strongly feel it's repetitive and a hassle to have a background check done on you multiple times even when you are a lawful gun owner with a valid carry permit.
Please consider introducing legislation to allow lawful gun owners with a valid License to carry to bypass the background check, a background check and investigation is already done when you apply for a License to carry.

    Thankyou for your time

Sounds good but I can't see it getting past Herr Wolf's desk.

Shit Pics doesn't even recognize LTCF as any sort of ID.

They'll never do it because a PICS check is an income generator for the state police. They charge the FFL, and the FFL in turn (after a markup) charges you.

That's a depressing thought, but unfortunately likely true.

That's a tough road for us.

But it would be a supply chain relief mechanism...

$2.50 is hardly an income generator. It’s an excuse to “generate” state income while having an incomplete database that’s not a registry.

427,000 PICS checks in the first QUARTER of 2021. I never studied mathematics above high school calculus but I can tell you that at two fifty a pop, that is quite a bit of cash over an entire year. Also, PICS has nothing at all to do with the PA State Police Record of Sale.

Never underestimate the willingness of the government to steal your money.
    As Jules said.

At least 1 in 7 adult Pennsylvanians have a LTCF. That is a lot of money. There isn’t a state that even comes close to the number of carriers we have.
