Default News story praised gun in stopping armed robbery in. Philly

Brinks driver pulls gun and fires on would-be armed robber outside Pa. store

    By John Luciew | jluciew@pennlive.com
The Brinks truck driver pulled up in front of a Pa. grocery store only to see a gun in his face. Luckily, the armored truck driver was armed, as well.

As 6ABC in Philly reports, just as the armed suspect pointed his gun and announced the robbery, the Brinks driver didn’t hesitate. He pulled out his own gun and opened fire.

As the driver fired back, the suspect dropped his gun and fled on foot, police tell 6ABC.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday outside a grocery store along the 1900 block of North 5th Street in Philly.

It remained unclear whether the suspect was shot, but police say his gun was recovered after he took off on foot totally empty-handed, 6ABC reports, adding:

No injuries were reported. The suspect remains at large.

Interesting the news story reports it was lucky he was armed.

I would expect an armored truck driver to be armed. How dumb are criminals?

Maybe he figured he had the drop on him and the guy in the truck wouldn*t try and draw. After all that is how it goes in the movies

How does one fire back when one has not been fired upon?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Criminals are emboldened because there is less and less repercussions today. Especially in major cities.

    Minor grammatical issue.

Would this be better, *The guard fired back at the suspect who pointed a gun at him*

If they start describing the clips in the handguns, then we have problems.

Glad the Brinks guy came out on top, that was a helluva quickdraw, drew his weapon and fired while a gun was already pointed at him.Hopefully the would-be was shot, ran off and bled out in a pissy alleyway.
