Re: Singapore’s SAR-80, Sterling Assault Rifle
Carefully removing cosmoline from plastic parts using dawn and hot water.
The cause of some pain.
I think I will try a re-weld on this before buying the 80% upper.

I guess basically it's an AR-18. I remember reading about these many years ago when I was a gun nerd reading Janes Infantry Weapons.

Applied some hole-be-gone to that scary auto sear hole.

Re: Singapore’s SAR-80, Sterling Assault Rifle
Should be about 45 more days and I will have an 80% upper and new barrel.
Last night I decided to get some more TIG practice and try rewelding the cut upper. It*s actually going really well despite how rough it looks.
Not sure if I will get this going or if I will use the 80%. Good practice regardless. The only way to get better at welding is by doing more welding.

Well seeing how those receivers got hammered with a torch pretty good, the welding job so far looks great.

Re: Singapore’s SAR-80, Sterling Assault Rifle
Would love to see an update if you have one! I saw people struggle with finding the barrel and receiver for these kits.
