Default Sig pistol top end switch

For some this may be an obvious question but here goes. I bought a 40cal p229 several years ago. Several years later I bought a p229 combo kit for 9mm and 22lr. I have the 22lr upper end and mag on the frame and love it. I would like to swap out the 40cal for the 9mm on the other p229 and of course using the 9mm mag. Anyone have any input or knowledge about this? The 40cal is the same model but a much older gun.
The question is, will you be on your feet or your knees?

I was able to swap my P229 from .40 to 9mm by changing the barrel, and recoil spring, and magazine.

Art they factory or aftermarket parts? I'd love to try that on my P229.

This was all factory parts. I got the p229, 22lr slide with bbl and all of the internals along with a 9mm slide and bbl complete with a mag. It was a promotion they were running at the time.(maybe around 10 years ago?) The 22 conversion parts were very little extra cost from the price of the pistol alone. I'll tell you the 22 is sweet. everything runs without fail through it, and it is very accurate.

For reliability, you might want to replace the ejector with a m11-a1 version. The 40sw/357 sig one is a few thousandths shorter

When I bought my P229 Sig had a 25% discount offer for accessories so I got the 9mm conversion kit for it.

I know there are differences in 'legacy' vs non-legacy (i.e. generation of manufacture) for the slides, not sure about the frames. May be worth asking over at SigTalk.

Thanks for the SigTalk advise. I sent an e-mail to the company with all of the info two days ago. No reply yet.The site said they reply to all e-mails within 3 days so waiting. Funny thing though I got 2 Sig ads each day from the day I sent the e-mail. LOL
