US&S 1911a1
I picked this up at a local public auction. The auction listing noted a "45 acp", along with numerous hunting rifles and shotguns, but provided few other details. I was shocked when I saw it was a US&S and it was receiving little attention. Most people were obviously there in hopes of purchasing hunting firearms. I have always wanted a US&S but assumed they were out of my price range. I was shocked when I had the winning bid and only one other guy was bidding against me!! it came with 5 LOADED WWII magazines, two of which were the older two-tone type. I disassembled and cleaned it when I got home and it appears to be all original. I would rate the Dulite finish at 90% +. Needless to say, I was thrilled and hope to pass it to my son. It was better than any "barn find" I've ever heard of!!
