Thumbs up About Knives - HB 1929

Some positive work removing "automatic knives" from the codes "prohibited weapons". Even though it is not about guns it is one we should support.
    Regular Session 2021-2022
    House Bill 1929
Short Title: An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in inchoate crimes, further providing for prohibited offensive weapons.
    Prime Sponsor: Representative CAUSER
Last Action: Referred to JUDICIARY, Sept. 28, 2021 [House]
Memo: Amend the prohibited offensive weapons statute regarding automatic knives

According to Doug Ritter of Knife Rights, it is doomed until we get a new governor.

Quite likely as is any other bill that is Pro-gun. BUT on the other side as long as we have a solid Republican Genral Assembly with Republican Chairmanship in the Judiciary committees of BOTH house, it is not likely any anti-gun bills will make it for a vote no matter what the Governor is!

    This is useless without preemption.

It looks like this might be passing with bipartisan support.

Agreed. Knives should also be added to our preemption statute.

This may actually have legs. Ultimately Wolf will never sign it, but it’s a good signal for the future, if we can ever elect a Republican or Libertarian governor.

I find it incredible that in some towns, being found with one of my EDC blades could be very troubling for my future, yet the gun is "fine" thanks to my LTCF.

Why not change it to LTCW, weapons including blades, guns and any other weapon not outright prohibited under state law (not that there really should be any banned)...
