Default Mossberg 930spx “jam my gun button”

I have a 930spx that I bought a few years and haven’t touched since I discovered when you inadvertently hit the bolt release button on a closed bolt it also dumps the contents of the mag tube out onto the lifter thereby jamming the gun up. Is there a fix out there yet to resolve this issue?

It's designed that way for unloading the magazine without cycling the shells through the action.

With depress the lifter, depress the bolt release and a shell falls out. Repeat as required.

ETA: You could also hold the bolt back and depress the bolt release to dump the shells.

Don't inadvertently depress the bolt release on a closed bolt.

Kinda glad I read this. I was looking at buying one of those, but my clumsy hands would be dropping shells everywhere. "Shit Happens" to me- a lot.

There are other semiautomatic shotguns have this feature (Beretta 1301 for instance) but, I don't know if the shell release is locked out when in battery

I recently bought the 1301 tactical as a result of the Mossbergs issues. The shell release is infact locked out when in battery.

If it's like the mossberg 9200 you could make a L bracket and attach it to the inside of the handguardto act as a hand stop. But I've carried my 9200 for years hunting and never accidently released a shell

It’s a 930. It’s going to jam regardless. I’ve never had worse luck with a shotgun before

I've had a 930 for quite some time now and it's been been very reliable with high and low brass shells. The first thing I did to it was a "fluff and buff" and then had the lifter welded up to prevent thumb bite.
