One is plated, the other jacketed.

Plated is relatively thin and while it will keep the lead inside from transferring and sticking to the bore, it is limited in the ability to do so. Plated bullets come with information on what speeds (fps) they are good to and should not be exceeded.

Jacketed bullets have a thicker outer shell of a copper or copper amalgam, allowing for control of terminal ballistics and withstanding of higher speeds.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Forgot to mention...plated has tail feathers.
