WYOMISSING, Pa. — An employee of an agency that provides services to the Wyomissing Area School District is in trouble with the law for having a pair of firearms on school property, according to the Wyomissing police.
The employee was working at the Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center on Friday, when school officials reported to the police that the employee had two firearms inside his vehicle, which was parked on school property, the police said.
The employee subsequently admitted to the police that the firearms were inside his vehicle, and a search by officers confirmed that, the police said.
The employee, whose name has not been released, was arrested on charges of possession of a weapon on school property, a first-degree misdemeanor, and firearms not to be carried without a license, a third-degree felony.
The incident prompted a brief lockdown of the school, but the police said the firearms were never inside the building and that no threats were made against any student or employee.
Pennsylvania law prohibits the possession of any weapon in school buildings or on the surrounding property.

Seems kinda dumb to leave two guns visible in your car on school property. Well, hopefully, he stopped at the school on his way to the range. We'll see what a judge thinks about it.

If true, the firearms not to be carried without a license charge would seem to indicate this won*t be a great test case.

Re: Guns in car trigger school lockdown, criminal charges...
I don't know why everyone still talks about a "test case". There have been at least TWO well-known cases where there was a failure to convict under §912 when there was otherwise no criminal activity involved.
The first, Christopher Anfuso, was resolved at the lowest level in our criminal courts, and as such, that decision is not binding. That verdict was won by Phil Kline (aka Gunlawyer001 here.)
The second was Commonwealth v. Goslin, where the Superior Court made a ruling and remanded the case back to lower court. Based on that ruling, local DA declined to appeal further and nolle prossed the original case (dismissed, "unwilling to prosecute"). The same analysis of the Superior Court ruling that convinced that DA to bail would likely be considered during potential future prosecutions, as it would certainly be referenced by any competent defense if charges were filed. Joshua Prince (aka SigForLife here) argued that case before the Superior Court.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

Legal or not, leaving firearms visible in a car you are not sitting in is just careless.
You shouldn't do that anywhere.
It is begging for a smash and grab robbery
