    Angry Beretta Releases M9A4

Beretta has announced the release of the new M9A4 variant for their 90 series pistols (link below). I was super excited to see this as I immediately assumed it would be red dot ready, and it would be a little less expensive than an LTT RDO model. Well I'm terribly disappointed in the design Beretta has put out. Their optics mounting system is probably the worst modular optics system in existence now. It appears they basically drilled and tapped the slide forward of the rear sight to mount a variation of the dovetail optics mounts. The mounting system appears to be so tall that there are no sights tall enough to co-witness. Even suppressor height sights are not going to cut it. Maybe you will get a lower 1/16th co-witness but that is it.

I would have been more excited if they released an out of the box open gun like a CZ Checkmate or the like. This M9A4 appears to be a big miss on Beretta's part.

Whoa, that's ridiculous! Then in the promo video they put the Aimpoint Acro on it to make it stand out even more.

Should warn a guy. I nearly puked when I clicked that link.

Makes a Glock look pretty. Good thing there are so many options out there. Something for everyone.

That's why the military dumped the M9, it wasn't as pretty as a Sig, and didn't match the new uniforms

Long time 92 lover but that's dumb.

Sorry, Beretta, you need to quit putting makeup on the dead hooker.
