I keep 2-3 boxes for all my hunting rifles, so I am good for a while. Last year I put a 6.5 Grendel together and bought some Russian ammo to sight in and two boxes of Federal Fusion. That will have to last me a long time. When you see it for sale now it is 2-3 bucks a round.

French flints are getting scarce. I never tried English flints, but don't see them as "Cheap" either.

I use the American saw cut flints, double edged about $4 or so right now and you get plenty of shots out of them compared to the price of 209 primers.

Hopefully at prices that discourage hoarding. $6 a round, per year, would be fine with me.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

My friend has sold off half his 30.06, all of his .308 and all of his .300 winmag.
Ammoseek does list .300WinMag for under $40 a box with free shipping.
I could stop reloading today and be set for a while for most common calibers and shotgun sabots.

My friends 7mm mag is selling for $2 a round and his .06 ( off brand mfgs) @ 25 a box.

    I might look into a .44, .41 or.357 mag rifle. I don't know why.

I seen some .243 at Walmart in Matamoras the other day. They didn't have much else. I really thought things would be a little better by now. I haven't hardly shot at all in the last year and a half. Between the ammo shortage and the crazy amount of people at the range, it just sucks now.

Some disjointed thoughts on this topic

Remington stopped producing ammo after bankruptcy. The new owners had to get new licenses etc and only a month ago started production. So the Remington or core lokt ammo you have been looking for has not been produced for over a year, and is only now getting back into production.

I shoot a lot of different calibers including .243. One thing I noticed since Sandy Hook is the .243 was the last ammo to disappear in a buying crisis. Now that it has gone away I*m not sure how quickly it will return

I was pleasantly surprised that the 6.5 creedmore seems to be sporadically available.

That is because 6.5 Creedmore is nothing but sales hype. The net had plenty of it for sale. Look at the price of 30-30 ammunition and 6.5 Grendel now.
