Default FedEx changed its firearms shipping policies

CliffsNotes version: Must be an FFL to ship firearms via FedEx now.

    Firearms
Only customers holding a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and federal, state, or local
government agencies may ship firearms with FedEx. Customers holding an FFL must enter
into an approved FedEx Firearms Shipping Compliance Agreement before shipping any
firearms with FedEx. For more information, contact your FedEx account executive.
On behalf of customers holding an FFL who enter into an approved FedEx Firearms
Shipping Compliance Agreement and federal, state, or local government agencies, FedEx
Express will transport and deliver firearms, antique firearms, and replica firearms, all as
defined by the United States Gun Control Act of 1968, as well as muzzleloaders and black
powder firearms (collectively *firearms*). Shipments containing firearms must be sent with
the Adult Signature Required Delivery Signature Option.

FedEx Express will transport ammunition when packed and labeled in compliance
with local, state and federal law, and the Dangerous Goods section of this Service Guide.
Ammunition is an explosive and must be shipped separately as dangerous goods. You
agree not to ship loaded firearms or firearms with ammunition in the same package.

    Same for FedEx Ground

Yeah what the fuck? So now the regular Joe can only ship guns back for repair work via UPS? What happens when they do the same? FFLs will turn into shipping offices.

Wasn't FedEx supposed to be a preferred shipper for the NRA?

The adult signature thing I doubt actually works. Twice now the FedEx driver has dropped stuff off ignoring the requirement. One was my Walther PPS from recall, and the most recent one were primers (dropped off at the wrong house too).

I bought ammo from Sig... adult signature required

FedEx left the box on the steps and walked away

Tracking showed that I signed for it though.....with my name spelled wrong.

Yeah, success with this is all dependent on the individual driver. Unfortunately, many of these minimum wage drivers become less and less concerned about doing things right once they're tired from a long day of hauling and delivering and realizing they may have to re-deliver a package. I've seen this across all shippers.

    LOL

Fedex vs UPS is like finding the clean end of a turd

That said I UPS mostly and being an FFL USPS who also suck on a whole other lvl is still the easy and cheaper option for handguns.

I suspect it won't be long for UPS to soon follow the same path. If them bastards do the same for ammo, there goes ordering ammo through the mail.
