How many AR's do I need?
we could make this a poll... I have a few (true number undisclosed) most purchased FTF, a few special ones from the dealer with background check...
Palmetto State is having their Labor Day sale - I (or you ) could pick up another for under $500 ... Should I ? (I know the answer is yes)Cb Μολὼν λαβέ

Re: How many AR's do I need?
Speaking as a professional perpetually broke-ass MOFO... If you already HAVE an entry level AR, unless you just want to have enough of them stashed away for "whatever", I would pass.
Bare bones, basic M4 style carbines... everyone should own one, and they are a GREAT value for someone with not a lot of money, but they are just not that interesting.
I would (and do) build each gun differently - the way I want them to be.
I post those bargain guns up in the Deals thread all the time, but it's pretty rare that I actually wish I had the money to buy any of them - I'd rather build one the way I want it.
All that said, I will (yet again) say that anyone who has been putting off buying because they are waiting for the prices to come back down, NOW is that time.
If you wait, hoping to save another $20, you are a dumb fuck that can not be reasoned with, and you deserve to suffer the agony of "I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE WHEN THEY WERE $500 and NOW THEY ARE $1,000 DOLLARS BECAUSE (fill in the political event that changes things overnight)!!!"I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I*m fairly certain you had need covered a long time ago. Buy what you want and can afford.

Re: How many AR's do I need?
that is the beauty of the platform, with a minimum of mechanical skill and some cheap easily found tools on line, you can lego the heck out of your entry level M4gery into some higher end bolt on attachments, like a better barrel, different hand guards etc etc budget permitting
sell your take off or keep it if you want to have spares or build another .Derrion Albert was my Hero.

Do you have a AR pistol in 300blk with a can? This can be carried loaded in your car legally. Also lots of ammo. Lots of ammo.

I don't know, if you hunt with them there is quite a few calibers out there now. I am guilty of multiple calibers, but like bortle said, "Also lots of ammo. Lots of ammo".

Re: How many AR's do I need?
As two is one and one is none*..at least one of each of the following
As above AR pistol in 300 BO with a can
Basic entry level 16 inch no frills beater
18 inch squad designated marksmen configuration
20inch full out CMP. competition rig. Then get to a local club match
At least two set up with a dedicated .22 rim fire upper and a target trigger . One set up with light weight barrel, the other set up like CMP rifle. Plus lots of ammo as you will shoot these a lot, as will kids, grandkids, ladies, truckers, bikers*well everyone. Then get to an Appleseed shoot. Once you have an entry level rifle this should be second choice
At least one in winter camo for varmint hunts in snow.
A pistol caliber carbine
If you venture into other states, a NY compliant one, including low capacity mags
So what did I miss?
