Re: 308 Israeli 1919A4 Belt Fed Build
Based on some research, I coated my parkerized parts in axle grease and baked them in my garage oven at 350F for an hour. They darkened up and got a little of a green tint to them, so I think it looks decent. I still have a lot to learn about parkerizing I think.
I finished building this 1919A6, lubed it up, and had a problem free test firing.
I was feeling creative so I made an adapter to mount an M240 50 round sack on the gun. Something different. I got the M240 nutsack from ebay for $40. I made the mount from random steel around the garage. The sack has a belt holding tab which I shimmed because it isn't needed (the gun has it's belt holding pawl) and I had to bend a piece of flashing around the top edge to keep the belt from getting caught on it.
Now to sand blast and parkerize the adapter mount. In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

Yes, that is the BOOBARU, a 97 Subaru Legacy with jeep wheels, 30" tires, and hacked fenders because why pay some ridiculous money for a side by side for my farm when I have $500 invested in this car all said and done and it has a radio, power windows, heat, etc.
