Default FFL who ships at reasonable price?

My LGS that in the past has shipped guns for me by USPS, now will only ship by UPS and wants $75 for the service. Can anyone recommend an FFL within hailing distance of Philly who will ship cheaper? My LGS claims the Post Office lost too many shipments, which I find hard to believe, and anyway USPS items can be insured. I think they just got tired of going to the Post Office and now get UPS to pickup from the shop. Thanks,

I would say that most likely they got tired of the post office losing guns, that's why I stopped using them . I had a lost gun for almost eight months, turned out some threw in the wrong bin at the Lehigh Valley terminal. They found by freaking luck. Post office is cheaper ,but fedex and UPS actually gets there for me.

I read about a service called Ship my gun.com. I have no idea if they are any good. I think they are Buds guns handling shipping. Just another option. Most FFL's are so busy, they don't want to bother with shipping customer's guns

Check Mike and Kate's.I did an online purchase through them and they may ship as well.

UPS requires Next Day Air service for firearms. Based on UPS rates, the fee you're being quoted is a bargain. As of this post, to ship a 3# package with that service, to the next town over from me is $53, and to send it to St. Louis (half-way across the country) is $116.

The last time I shipped a gun FFL to FFL I used American Arms and Ammo in Colmar. They were charging $50 for it. But this ws a couple of years ago. Definitely call around and see what you can come up with and let us know. I'm toying with selling a gun and might offer it up for shipping....

My local lgs charges $50 as well. I usually end up splitting the shipping as part of the deal when I sell.
